Abstract

The management of people's shipping transportation has a close relationship with the management of the cargo condition information system. People's shipping currently still uses a traditional information system due to the lack of facilities that support goods delivery activities. There are users who leave it because it is not practical and trust in the condition of their goods. Users can only wait for news through face-to-face and telephone calls, so they cannot know for sure the condition and whereabouts of their goods. With these obstacles, supporting facilities are needed as a source of good information exchange. With these conditions, the owners of goods who want to send goods must exceed their goods, so that if there is damage or loss of the goods, they can be received by the recipient according to the amount. The ability to track and trace is very important for efforts to find out the condition of goods when shipping is carried out. Therefore, an information system was created that can be used as a tool to find out the condition of the cargo being sent. By using a cargo tracking tool in the form of a barcode scanner and website, a feasibility value of using the Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR) of 1.22 was obtained.
